The Good & The Crazy

I love my husband. He has really stepped up and done more than his fair share to keep our family normal during this time of change and adjustment.

Today he brought A to his ENT appointment - tubes here we come! They confirmed a moderate to severe loss possibly caused by the fluid. We'll get his hearing checked again after surgery.

After the appointment, Lee dropped him off at school and what a sweet welcome I received. A ran to me, gave me the biggest hug and said, "Mio mommy!" (translated: my mommy!) Just so you know...he calls everyone mommy- even Lee. We are working on teaching him our names, but for now it seems as though it might be a lost cause.  It was still sweet, though.

Do you ever think that people might find you a little crazy if they overheard what you say to your kids?

Here were a few of my comments during the first 5 minutes of our commute home this afternoon (I was on the phone with Lee letting him know we were on our way). The entire car ride home was pretty much the same thing...with the addition of VERY LOUD screaming.

"A...yuck, we don't spit into David's hand. Spit goes in the sink. Lee, how do you say spit in Spanish?  Escupas. No escupas. Solamente en la....Lee, how do you say sink in Spanish?"

"David, no thank you- we do not rub A's spit on our face. That spreads germs."

"A and David, we do not blow our noses without a tissue. Here is a tissue...wipe your noses."

"No, David, we do not hand A our dirty tissue- it goes in the trash."

"A we need to keep our shoes and socks on in the car. Shoes on please."

"Yucky, we don't lick our dirty toes, A."

"Lee, I think we need a girl..."
