Since A has joined our family, we have had...
3 appointments with the pediatrician
1 visit with his mom
1 appointment with early intervention
and by the end of this month we will have...
1+ appointments with the ENT
1 appointment for a full speech and language assessment
It's ok...I don't mind. The hour + wait at the pharmacy for antibiotics and steroids for his breathing taught me about patience and we are hoping that with all of these appointments, A will get what he needs to be healthy and begin catching up with his speech and language.
I'm also hoping that if we can deal with the fluid in his ears, his hearing will return to normal (if it ever was in the first place) and the VERY loud screaming and vocal play that happens in the car will cease...I can dream, right?
Alright. Now for some positives:).
A is incredibly sweet and spunky. He wears his emotions on his face and is very animated. I love it when he laughs. He is transitioning more easily into his school day and he always gives great big 'running and jump into your arms' type of hugs when I pick him up. I love it.
I also love how David truly feels like a big brother to A. I really haven't seen much jealousy...just care and concern. He even sticks up for A when I have to take something away (like his water cup when he spits or burps five times after each sip). My biggest challenge is teaching David not to imitate these behaviors. Oh, if you could only see our drive into school!
Alright...bedtime for me. I need to get more pictures to post here...maybe this weekend!
