It Doesn't Stop!

The answers to prayers, that is.

Three years ago, I was driving David's older brother home from church. He was asking me about life and death and then moved on to the topic of when he and David were going back to live with their birth mom. "Do you think we could all go to church together, with my mom?" He asked. I told him that I would really love that.

Lately, David has been praying for the same thing.

Yesterday, for the first time, David's birth mom came to church with us. She had called the day before and asked to join us. We were really surprised, amazed at the timing, and thankful for the answered prayer.

So there I was, sitting in church, David's birth mom to my left and (A)'s aunt to my right. Who would have ever thought? I mean, seriously. But how cool is that? God has connected us all through our children and he brought us all together at the same time to listen to the pastor share about how God works in ways that are above what we could ever imagine. Isn't that the truth! I would have never in a million years envisioned myself in a church service surrounded by the birth family of my children. What an amazing gift!

This weekend, we had a lot of good quality family time. We also had the chance for some one-on-one time with each of the boys. It was really nice. We took the boys to Burke Lake Park on Saturday and (A) went on the train for the first time! We have always taken our kids to that park to ride the train so it was long overdue for (A) to have a ride. He loved it.

Here are some pictures from the weekend:

They went for ice cream after dinner!

Lee talked with David about the fact that (A) may go back to live with his mom. Please pray that God prepares all of our hearts for whatever is going to happen over these upcoming months.
