I should be packing lunches for the boys or wrapping birthday presents for my soon to be FOUR year old (yikes!), but I am going to take a minute to write first because there is so much going on.
First of all- we bought the tickets and it is official...I will have the opportunity to see Jaqueline and her newborn boy in September! That is, of course, unless he decides not to show up while I am there.
We have been writing back and forth frequently and in order to know where to reserve a hotel room, I asked her in which hospital she would be delivering.
She will be giving birth to her son in the same hospital where her daughter was about to die before she was flown and cared for here in the US. This is hard for me to imagine. I wonder if she has been back there. It has to evoke so many memories. She didn't send me the name of the hospital, but Lee reminded me that we had documents from there when we were trying to get Ashley transferred. I looked back and found them. It felt strange reading their diagnosis and description of care they had given to Ashley. It seems like ages ago and yet, when I let myself go back- it can seem like just yesterday.
So David is going to be four years old. Wow! He likes to tell people, "I'm going to be four and then I'm going to be five!" Today, while he was in the bath, he thought hard and then said, "After five, I will be six!" That took me aback because that is how old his big brother was when he joined our foster family briefly. David was just 3 months old at the time. Crazy. Speaking of brothers- we finally get to visit with him and his family on Sunday. We can't wait. We are celebrating David's 4th birthday with his birth mom the day before. It is going to be a full, but fun weekend:).
(A) is doing well. We just received some difficult news about his birth mom. I'm still processing it...not sure how to tell him...not sure how this is going to affect them. I'm glad that God is in control because I don't understand why, but I trust that His plan is perfect for our son.
I think I will stop here!
Good night:)
