He Wishes...

(A) and I had some alone time tonight...reading the Bible and saying prayers before bed. 

This was (A)'s prayer tonight:

"Dear God, I wish my mommy and (Little A) can be with our family."

This was my prayer tonight:

"Dear God, thank you for bringing (A) into our family. We love him SO much. Keep him, his mommy, and Little A safe and help them to know how much YOU love them."

(A)'s response:

"Mommy, I love you!"

I'll be honest with you all....I so want him to stay in our family forever, but I know that God's ways are so much bigger than ours and I still feel at peace with letting Him be in control:). I'll be happy if we can indeed all be a part of God's big family...adopted by our Heavenly Father!

Ephesians 1:5-7 "In love, he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved."

I talked with (A)'s mom on the phone for close to an hour tonight. I gave her updates, helped her with thinking of ways to mend relationships, and asked her questions about (A)'s birth story. Sometimes I wonder if she has ever had someone interested in knowing about her experiences...someone who cares to lift her up when she has been doing something right and encouraging her to keep making good choices. In some instances she really just doesn't know because she has not been taught. Just like our (A).

In some ways she reminds me of Jaqueline...how quiet she can be...and that sense that even though she might never say it, she really likes having someone care about her. Please pray that (A)'s mom feels her worth and how much she is loved by God through our relationship. I really think she needs a mom and I want to be available to serve in that role if it is what God wants.

Speaking of Jaqueline, guess what? Baby Frida has her first tooth!! Oh, how I miss those girls...I just want to be there to squeeze Jaqueline tight and snuggle with precious Frida and marvel at how much she has grown. I still don't have any pictures of her, but when I do I promise to post them!
