Have I mentioned that we feel very much ready to be foster parents again? We are in that place where we want to prepare and have everything ready, but it is next to impossible because we have no idea what age or gender our next child is going to be! We have a crib that turns into a toddler bed so our sleeping arrangements are pretty well established, but other than that we will probably just need to do some last minute shopping if the little guy or girl is in a different developmental stage than David.
During this 'waiting' period, I am praying that God prepares our hearts so that we can best comfort, love, and serve our new child and his/her family whenever they enter our lives. We know that God's timing is perfect.
Have I mentioned that David is talking non-stop these days? Oh. my. goodness. Nonstop. Lee and I laugh so much at some of the things that he says. Sometimes I wish he had a pause button:). Especially when he repeats the same question or comment over and over and over again haha.
D: "Mommy, you cannot go in that garden with the sprinklers because you don't have your bathing suit."
M: "Yes, David, you are right."
D: "Mommy? You can't go in the garden because you don't have your bathing suit."
M: "MmmHmm."
D: "Mommy? Did you see the garden?"
M: "Yes, David."
D: "You can't go in there because they have sprinklers and you aren't wearing your bathing suit."
M: "Yes, David, you already said that sweetheart..."
D: "Mommy? You can't...."
M: "David, let's talk about something else. What would you like for dinner tonight?"
D: "Maybe we should go to a restaurant. What about IHOP? That's a good idea!"
It is raining here today. Great day to go grocery shopping, right? Well, we did. On our way home, David and I had the following conversation:
D: "Mommy, do you want to go to the playground with me today?" (I love how he invites me!)
M: "Do you think we should go to the outside playground when it is raining??"
D: "Nooo. Mommy, do you want to take a walk with me?"
M: "It probably isn't a good idea to take a walk right now because it is raining outside, silly!"
D: "Mommy, let's make cookies at home because it isn't raining in our house!" (now there's an idea!)
I love this kid.
Have I mentioned that we are ready to be foster parents again? Umm..yes, I believe I have:).
