We have been in touch with her via email. I've sent her pictures of Ashley's grave, Bible verses for her to read, and just reminders that we love her and are thinking about her.
She wrote me today and shared that she is having difficulties with her mom and wants to move to Tijuana in order to find a job and move forward with her life. She chose TJ because she wants to be closer to the family she stayed with before she came here in December. If you don't know or remember, this is the family I wrote about in this post. They are family friends of Lee, strong Christians, and have also lost a daughter to cancer just a little over two years ago. To be honest, we are thrilled that she is seeking to move closer to them because they were an amazing support to her in December and we know that they would continue to provide her with guidance and love if she were close to them. We are praying that God keeps Jaqueline safe and leads her to where she needs to be right now.
We spoke tonight on the phone and even thought the connection wasn't clear, it was still such a gift to be able to hear her voice and to hear her laugh a little. Hopefully we won't have to wait too much longer to talk again.
