Protected

My boys have been through a lot...not as much as some kids their age, but definitely more than your typical 5 year olds.

Lately, God has been revealing to me the ways in which He has protected our sons.

Yes, there are times like today when I wonder how many more disappointments they will have to experience and how it might impact them, but then I realized....

When you love completely and open your heart to others...even if those others happen to be your mom, there will be disappointment.

And that is ok, because with each disappointment, we are reminded that we are merely human.  Yes, merely human, but we have a BIG God who loves us more than we could ever imagine and who fills us with a hope that does not disappoint.

We LOVE our boys' birth mothers and while circumstances can sometimes be disappointing, we will never ever lose hope that God will heal and redeem. That is why we were called to be foster/adoptive parents in the first place....he's in that business and what joy there is in watching Him at work!
