God, David, & Money

This whole potential moving/housing hunting process has become a little tedious, but God is using it to teach me about money.

It is so easy to get caught up in 'how much' we have and 'how much' with think we need.

As we look at different places to live, I find myself struggling with placing too much importance on our comfort. God reminds me...

"So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:18

David reminds me that we will move...

"Only if God wants us to, mommy!"

As we try to save up our money and figure out what we are able to afford, God reminds me...

"Give freely and become more wealthy; be stingy and lose everything. The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed." Proverbs 11:24-26

"God blesses you who are poor, for the kingdom of God is yours. God blesses you who are hungry now, for you will be satisfied. God blesses you who weep now, for in due time you will laugh." Luke 6:20-21

David reminds us...

"We don't need a lot of money. We just need a little money."

How true! God has been so faithful to provide for our family just what we need. I pray that we become a family that generously gives to others in need- expecting nothing in return. I pray that we never become too comfortable with all of our 'things' so that we lose sight of how God wants to shape and grow us.

I am thankful that God gave us two precious boys who teach us so much about Him every day.
