Daddy

For a while there I thought that David might be forever a mommy's boy. He is so much like me and to be honest...probably a little more sensitive than Lee would like:).

But it happened....David has changed sides. Daddy is now the one who can do no wrong. Here are some quotes from today that prove it:

"I'm getting so big and strong. I'm going to grow up to be as big as mommy and daddy, but daddy is the strongest!"

"Mommy, daddy likes to play tennis and I like to play baseball."

Ok...so at least he has his own sport preferences, but daddy is frequently the topic of conversation around here!

And even though he likes to play baseball doesn't mean that he fully grasps the importance of keeping his eye on the ball (Daddy has some work cut out for him:).

(A) on the other hand....is rough and tumble, but still definitely prefers mommy haha. There are some days when I feel as though I have grown an extra appendage!

Tonight was so sweet...I have to share. Every night we read together, pray, and then I sing 'Jesus Loves Me' as I tuck them in to their beds. Tonight, as I am singing...I hear a little voice joining in. Sure enough (A) is trying to sing 'Jesus Loves Me!' and was doing a pretty good job! This is big for him. Really. It is big for him. He tends to take one word or phrase from a song and just repeat it haha.

Anyway, it just really warms my heart. He now tries to pray for meals ("Dear God. Amen.") and is always so excited when he sees a church ("Church!"). God has given him such an amazing personality and so many gifts...I can't wait to see how he uses them as he grows older!  I also pray that we allow God to show (A) how much He loves him through our love and care.

Alright. Here is to great daddies and a loving, compassionate, and forgiving Heavenly Father!

Matthew 7:11
If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!
