It has been issued. His passport will be arriving early next month.
God has given me this amazing sense of peace amidst the grief. He has been so purposeful in bringing Little D back here....blessing me with a feeling of closure after an entire year of wondering 'why.'
We love our sweet little guy deeply and God has given us a love for his family. If you are able please pray that his dad feels loved and welcomed as he meets us in person for the first time and spends time with us in our home.
This will be a new type of transition...so much more intimate and resulting in a much greater loss.
While we are praying for chances to see him electronically, there will be no more in-person hugs, no more gentle kisses or silly high fives.
I'm not sure I am ready to think about what things will be like without him, but I know that he has left us forever changed and I pray that our family has done the same for him.
Praying that he keeps his joy, his love for Bible stories, his enthusiasm for music, and great sense of humor!
