December already

Can you believe it is already December? I can't! 

Both of the big boys are embracing this month like no other. They want to make our pretend snow, they want to make snow globes, they want to get a Christmas tree and decorate it, they want to bake cookies, and they absolutely love drinking hot cocoa and marshmallows during our read aloud times (so do I!). Now if only my energy level could match theirs...I am sure we'd be having a blast every moment of every day:). 

The little guy is getting into it a little too. He is picking up Christmas songs and singing them at full volume while we are out and about. He watched attentively as Lee cut our Christmas tree and he took his tree decorating job quite seriously. So did the big boys for that matter. See the picture? They pretty much decorated the whole thing all by themselves and were very proud of their finished product. They have a mommy who is not too picky about ornaments being perfectly placed so when they wanted to dangle some ornaments at the very bottom of the tree...on that strange curved branch, I told them to go for it. 

This is an exciting time of year and I am praying that as we celebrate as a family this year, we make an effort to reflect on what it truly means to celebrate Christ's birth.  May we be purposeful in showing his love through our actions!
