Birth Siblings

David and (A) have been brothers for over a year now. Their relationship is very close, but it has taken time for (A) to get to where he is today. He was very possessive of his birth family at first was very adamant that he only had one little brother. Now he proudly tells people, "David is my big brother!"

Birth siblings. It really stinks to be honest. Both of our boys are separated from their brothers. For a good two years, we worked very closely with our dear friend and foster mom of David's older brother so that they could see each other almost every weekend. After his adoption by another family, visits are much less frequent. We have come to accept that (sort of), but it was really really hard at first.

(A)'s little brother....let's just say that (A) doesn't see him nearly as often as he should and I have learned from our experience with David's older brother that I should only push so hard as to not jeopardize relationships with the people who decide if we will have visits or not.

David had a visit with his big brother last weekend! I was sick and could not join them, but Lee said it was a wonderful time. Here is a picture:

David's older brother is a wonderful role model and we are so thankful for that...we hope that despite the distance and time between visits, that David will once again develop that connection with his big brother.

Please pray that (A) can have a chance to see his little brother soon. It has been way too long and it just breaks my heart that the brotherly-bond that was once so strong...can be diminished because of the mistakes of others.

Please also pray that I know when to fight and when to keep my mouth shut:)
