Laundry, Anyone?

"My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever." Psalm 73:26

I keep thinking about this Bible verse, but haven't officially memorized it yet. I need to. I will. This week. It has already calmed me down, just reading it again. Don't you love how God gives you opportunities to truly experience what he teaches?:) Sometimes.

Last week was great and on Saturday we had absolutely no plans. Miraculous. We decided to do the typical Easter traditions a day early and celebrate the real meaning of Easter on Sunday. SO the baskets were out that morning, we decorated eggs...

...we had a little egg hunt and even let the boys eat some candy for snack! The weather was beautiful so the boys played outside, I spent some time with a friend and our neighbors....all was well in life.

All was well until David threw up. He had been so cheerful all day and was still acting himself that we decided it was probably just the candy. He really isn't used to eating candy. Then he threw up again... and again...and again...need I go on? It was a long night.

SUNDAY morning David woke up feeling better and I woke up with a fever. Lee was amazing and watched the boys as I slept and felt my throat getting more and more swollen and painful.

MONDAY morning I woke up in so much pain that I knew I couldn't go to work. I dropped the boys off at school and headed to the Minute Clinic. The nurse took one look at my throat and said, "Wow. THAT is red and swollen." Sure enough- strep throat. Praise God for antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medication. I have a new-found appreciation for being able to swallow without cringing in pain! When I picked the boys up from school I drove them to the doctor to get a test of their own- negative. Whew. We would all be able to return to work/school on Tuesday.

Wrong. Monday night David starting throwing up again...and again. This time Lee headed out in the wee hours of the night to get some anti-nausea medication. It helped and he slept through the remainder of the night.

TUESDAY morning at 5am we decided that David would go to work with Lee in the morning and I would watch him in the afternoon. Wait...this is today, right? Haha. We survived and at the moment both boys are sound asleep.

I am now cleaning and trying to disinfect the house...we must have about 10 loads of clean clothing that need folding. Hence my offer in the title of this post- Laundry, anyone? Feel free to stop by!

"My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever." Psalm 73:26

My boys...my crazy, fun, wild, adorable, exacerbating, lively, joyful, sometimes irritable, mostly loving and affectionate boys.

Translations from Today:
(A): "Mommy anchovy go pass!"
Me: "I don't think I understand what you are saying. Did you say anchovy?"
(A): "Yeah."
Me: "Did you say that anchovies go fast?"
(A): "No."
David: "Mommy, I think he is trying to say that the HOV goes faster than the regular 395. Is that what you were trying to say, (A)?"
(A): "Yeah! Anchovy go pass!"
