Life Book

Some of you may not know what a Life Book is. Well, David's consists of 64 pages (yikes!) that tell the story of his first three years of life. Life Books are often made for children in foster care or who are adopted so that they can keep those memories with them when they move from one family to another.

I began David's Life Book when he was a little over a year old. I worked for hours and made it with the hope that he might look at that book and remember us when he was back with his mom and brother. After adding the final picture a few night ago, I looked through it all in amazement. This is a book filled with pictures of the many people who adore our son and we have no concerns about him 'remembering' anyone because they are all still going to be a part of his life as he grows older.

We have a photo of his footprints from when he was born (we took a picture of a document that his birth mom had lent to us) and a typed story about his birth (as reported from his birth mom). Almost all of the important people who have entered his life are present in this book.

Lee and I ordered it last night and cannot wait to show it to him! Once it arrives I'll be sure to take pictures and post them on here.
