At the moment we have it pretty easy. Because of Little D's situation, we don't have a ton of visits every week and the way things are progressing, it is easy to ignore the thought of him leaving.
Anthony's situation was very similar. We were able to get settled into a nice routine and family life felt 'normal'....if there even is such a thing.
The only thing is, when time comes to prepare to say goodbye it is even more of a shock because you don't really have the build up.
You get a break from the reminders and so it is easier in the beginning, but it also does not allow you the typical timeline to prepare. It is harder in a way....at the end.
I am enjoying the 'living in denial' at the moment, though, and am so grateful for all three of my boys!
Here are some recent photos of them:)
