I was told that he didn't have a strong preference for blankets or anything like that and so I didn't really give it much thought.
She encouraged me to buy him something special...something soft....something that he could grow attached to and bring with him no matter what happens.
Today I took her advice and bought him a soft lamb blanket. I told him it was his very own special lamb blanket and he hugged and snuggled with that thing and then hugged and snuggled with me.
Before bed, he held it close to his face as I rocked him and read him his goodnight books.
Tonight, Lee and I peeked in on him and there he was....snuggled up in bed holding his little lamb blanket.
It was absolutely precious.
