Announcing...

When you give birth to a child, things are fairly predictable in regards to timing. You know you have about nine months, you know that the labor will probably be hard and last way too long, but that there will be an end within a day or two...and once the child has arrived, you can begin sharing pictures of your adorable child with the world! You will announce their name, how much they weigh, and all sorts of cute details about them.

Well, we do things a little differently around here:).

We had approximately two days notice before our son joined our foster family...a long time to wait considering we had 20 minutes notice for David!

And the labor? Hmm...let's see if I can calculate that. Two years, four months, and one day.

Today, February 25, 2013, we went to court with David, (A), our family from NY, and many others who have been a part of (A)'s life these past two years. We stood and watched as the judge signed the adoption order and now...FINALLY...we have the great privilege of announcing the permanent addition of our second son:

ANTHONY VASQUEZ



We are so blessed to call him our son and last night I was just jumping around...so excited I couldn't stand it. This morning I couldn't stop smiling at the thought that soon we would be able to make the same type of announcements that new parents make.

So you see his name, right? Anthony Vasquez.

At this moment he weighs about 46lbs and is 45 inches tall:).

He joined our foster family at 2 years, 10 months and our forever family at the age of 5 years, 2 months. Would you like to see more pictures?? Here are pictures of Anthony from that span of time:










 

I don't really know what else to say. God is good. If there is one thing being a foster parent teaches you, it is that our children are HIS first and so as we move forward as a family forever....I pray that I never let that slip my mind. I am forever grateful to have the privilege of raising these two incredible boys.
