Adoption Timeline

December is an exciting month. (A) will turn five. I still can't believe we will have two five year old boys...crazy!

Even more special is that we will get to celebrate his birthday and Christmas with his birth mom this year. Actually....we will be celebrating early with both his birth mom and David's birth mom- so fun!

I spoke with an adoption attorney today. She helped to finalize David's adoption in 2010 and will be helping to finalize (A)'s adoption in 2013. Apparently it takes about 3-4 months to finalize. We were hoping it would be sooner, but that's ok...we will wait as long as needed. 

(A)'s adoption worker came for a home visit this month. She's so great with them, but boy were they wild. She probably wonders why I haven't gone crazy yet. I promise, they do not always run in circles, break dance, do flips, and wildly switch from one activity to the next all in 30 minutes. I opted not to joke about wanting a third for fear she might change her mind about our family being a good fit for (A):). 

Anyway....that is the start to (A)'s adoption process. Wow. It is still just such a surreal and extremely exciting thought.
