One Month Left

"This is the mysterious pattern of God's work in the world, the pattern of loss that brings gain, willing sacrifice that yields abundance, self-forgetfulness that creates a space for the remembering of God."

As I cradle and rock sweet Baby C, I can't help but acknowledge how much he feels like mine. After a busy day today, his sleep was not sound and he woke up crying. I picked him up and held him...he melted into my arms as if to say, "Ahhh now I feel safe again." As I gently placed him back into the crib, I prayed silently for God to help his heart open and attach strongly to his new mom and dad....to help him feel as safe and secure and at home in his new home...

Transitions. We have until the beginning of October with our little man and then it will be time to let him go.

The boys are adamant that they want him to stay, but alas...that is not in God's plans and that is ok because at this young age, they are learning that....

"This is the mysterious pattern of God's work in the world, the pattern of loss that brings gain, willing sacrifice that yields abundance, self-forgetfulness that creates a space for the remembering of God."

Now I just pray that God gives me the strength to help support the boys as they learn more about their capacity to love even when it means your heart might break a little in the process.
